Sept 1, 2023 - A 39-year-old man was caught soliciting passersby to rent his unregistered mopeds from a white van parked by Center Drive and Central Park South. He was charged with four summonses for illegal scooter rental and one for unlawful solicitation in the park.
The incident came to the police's attention after a passerby and the E-Vehicle Safety Alliance's social media account reported it on August 27, leading to the charges on August 29.
