May 6th, 2026 - The Davis Center at the Harlem Meer turned one in April, marking a full year since the $160 million facility opened on the site of the former Lasker Rink and Pool. Construction began in 2021 and became one of the Central Park Conservancy's largest recent projects.
In its first year, the center drew more than 173,000 visitors across its pool, ice rink, and green space. During the ice season, over 40,500 tickets were sold for public programs including community skate, Learn to Skate, and hockey clinics. Peak-hour skating costs $10, about half the rate at Rockefeller Center and Bryant Park.
The Gottesman Pool opens June 27 and runs through September 13, offering Learn to Swim lessons and free daily swimming. The Conservancy says outreach remains a focus, with many nearby residents still discovering the facility for the first time.
