Patch.com reports that if you were out doing good to get tickets to see Selena Gomez rock the Global Citizen Festival, let's hope you're a fan of Demi Lovato, too. The organizers of the Global Citizen Festival, a free concert you earn tickets for by performing charitable deeds, announced Lovato will be replacing Gomez as headliner for the Sept. 24 concert.
Lovato will now headline the festival along with Rihanna, Major Lazer, Kendrick Lamar and Metallica. Chris Martin, Usher, Ellie Goulding and Eddie Vedder will also make guest appearances. The concert takes place on the Great Lawn. The festival is slated to start at 4 p.m. and last until 10 p.m.
This is the fifth year the festival has been held by the Global Poverty Project. The concert is free, but attendees must perform an "action"to get tickets to the event. This year, Global Citizen, the charity that runs the event, is directing those actions toward helping with education in developing countries and those affected by war and natural disasters.
