DNAInfo.com reports that Fifth Avenue will once again be a sea of green filled with shamrocks and leprechauns for the city's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Thursday, March 17.
This will be the The 255th edition of the New York City parade which is considered the largest St. Patrick's parade in the world, according to organizers. While the parade is not in Central Park, the route is along Fifth Avenue and will cause street closures and block entrances into the park. The parade route starts at 44th and Fifth Avenue and travels up Fifth Avenue to 79th street.
Buses along Fifth Avenue will be detoured, and many park entrances along the parade route may be blocked and cross streets closed due to the parade and the crowds. Central Park is open, you just need to be prepared for any detours. To read the article in its entirety, click here. Head to our event page to learn more about the parade as well.
