Martha Stewart supports Central Park
The 28th Annual Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon took place at the Conservatory Garden on Wednesday, May 5th, 2010. Over 1,200 guests wearing large and decorative hats attended the daytime gala that raises money for the Central Park Conservancy.
In the beginning of this annual event's history, it was 20-something women at Tavern on the Green trying to raise funds. This year Martha Stewart, Sigourney Weaver, Peggy Siegal, Cynthia Lufkin, Diana Rice, Marcia Mishaan, Sarah Robertson, Anne Harrison and Noreen Buckfire were some of the women who attended. And the event managed to bring in nearly $2.5 million to maintain the park's beauty.
