Oct 16th, 2025 - Central Park and its surrounding Upper West Side are rich with ghost stories and haunted history.
The iconic Dakota Apartments, overlooking the park, are home to multiple spirits, including the developer Edward Clark who died before its completion and famously watched over renovations, as well as the ghost of John Lennon, who was tragically killed outside the building.
The park itself holds spectral legends like the Van Der Voort sisters, Victorian siblings said to still ice skate on the Boat Pond. Other locations, such as Tavern on the Green and Belvedere Castle, also carry tales of paranormal encounters.
Visitors can explore these haunted sites through guided tours like those offered by Boroughs of the Dead.
