According to the National Weather Service, the Spring of 2010 has been the warmest on record in Central Park since the organization started measuring the park's temperature in 1869.
The average temperature through the spring months of March, April and May was 57.1 which is 4.7 degrees warmer than the average. Plus, it is 0.8 degrees warmer than the previous heat record set in 1991.
The National Weather Service is also predicting that there is a 34% chance that temperatures during the summer months of June, July and August will also be above average.
The coldest spring on record in Central Park was in 1888 when the temperature averaged 44.7 degrees.
