Dec 20, 2023 - There are 1,600 lamp posts inside of Central Park, each with a number at its base that can help you navigate direction like a map.
The first two to three numbers represent the closest street, and the last number indicates whether you are on the east side (even numbers) or west side (odd numbers) of the park.
As long as you're not in The Ramble's 36-acres of trees and trails (but no lamp posts), you should be able to find your way out of Central Park without the use of a phone.
