Those who turned out for Jazz & Colors at Central Park yesterday were treated to a surprise performance by Phil Lesh, who teamed up with guitarist Eric Krasno and drummer Joe Russo for a 30-minute set near Sheep's Meadow.
The trio performed in addition to the already scheduled thirty bands scattered across the park. Though they were not listed on the maps given to attendees as they entered the park, word spread on social media so that 30 people awaited their performance - a crowd that tripled in size by the end of their thirty-minute set that veered from the uniform playlist of the ensembles around the park.
