In March of 2020 the Kerbs Boathouse, located near the busy E. 72nd Street entrance to the Park, closed down for a period of time along with all nonessential businesses in New York. In time, the boathouse re-opened, but not the cafe inside and not the public restrooms located inside the cafe.
Hopefully soon, the restrooms will be open again; Its been said the Parks Department have recently signed a new agreement with Le Pain with the goal to reopen the concession and the restrooms in November. The new agreement will soon be registered with the city comptroller's office.
