On top of the Metropolitan Museum of Art there is a roof garden, and on May 12th, 2015 it opened with an art exhibit by Pierre Huyghe (born 1962, Paris). He has installed the third in a new series of site-specific commissions for the Museum's Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Roof Garden. The roof garden admission is included in the price of your ticket to the museum. The Garden is open every day from 10am - closing. Weather permitting, it will run through November 1, 2015.
If you're looking to see a glorious sunset and wonderful views of the New York City skyline, this is where you want to go. The Museum is located inside of Central Park, so you get amazing views of the park as well.
There is an outdoor Cafe that is open every day, offering light snacks, sandwiches and salads. On Fridays and Saturdays there is a Martini Bar. For more details about your dining and drinking options, please go to their website.
