December 28, 2024 - The New York Road Runners cancelled the Central Park drone show that was supposed to take place instead of fireworks during the Midnight Run on New Year's Eve. The fireworks were cancelled in early December due to a recent drought.
The scheduled performance was cancelled after another show by the same company resulted in injury when several drones fell into a crowd on December 21st.
