The city is considering changing traffic patterns in Central Park to increase pedestrian safety — a sharp turn away from the outgoing Parks Commissioner’s recent comment that speeding cyclists are “not a huge problem.”
In one of his last acts in his post, Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe said Thursday that his agency has joined with the Department of Transportation and the NYPD to review how to stop out-of-control bicycling in the city’s signature public park.
