Oct 17th, 2025 - Rachael Lillis, beloved for voicing iconic Pokémon characters like Misty, Jessie, and Jigglypuff, died in 2024 after battling breast cancer. To honor her legacy, a bench dedicated to Lillis has been installed in Central Park, funded largely by fans and unveiled by fellow Pokémon voice actors Veronica Taylor, Lisa Ortiz, and Tara Sands.
Located between 106th and 108th Street off Central Park West, the bench features a plaque commemorating her inspiring voice work that touched generations. It offers a place for visitors to reflect on her enduring impact in the world of animation and pop culture.
Lillis's contributions extended beyond Pokémon to other animations and video games, and she is remembered fondly by fans and colleagues alike for her talent and kindness.
