The Transportation Committee recently passed a resolution approving a DOT plan to create a protected bike lane on Central Park West. The lane, which will run north from 59th to 110th Streets, will span seven feet wide to the curb and be separated from traffic by paint and physical barriers. It will also result in the elimination of 400 parking spaces.
If the full Community Board votes unanimously on the resolution, it would allow the plan to be implemented.
