The Cairo Post, posted an article about the year long restoration of Central Park's Cleopatra Needle. The Needle was gifted to Central Park in the 1880's and on January 22, 1881, the Obelisk was erected in New York’s Central Park. Did you know that there is a twin to this one in London, which currently stands by the River Thames? Both were originally erected outside an ancient Egyptian temple in Luxor. The Obelisk is 69-feet and weighs 220-tons.
