In partnership with the Yale School of the Environment and Natural Areas Conservancy, the Central Park Conservancy has agreed to collect and map data that would give an understanding of how Central Park is impacted by climate change and extreme weather. Plans to do the same in other green spaces across more cities are in the works. Use of NYC's open spaces increased by 65% in 2021 according to a spokesperson from the Natural Areas Conservancy.
