More that 5,000 NYC Roadrunners lined up for a 12 mile-long race hosted by New York Road Runners, in preparation for the 2019 TCS NYC Marathon.
The Sunday, August 11th race was held in temperatures of about 70 degrees - ideal conditions for August running. Although it was supposed to be the second of three training races, it ended up being the first after a heat wave forced organizers to cancel July's 10 mile-long race.
The third and final race in the training series will be 18 miles long, and it will take place in Central Park in September.
