As reported in the Perth Now, Sunday Times, the city of New York has taken the dramatic step of banning selfie sticks in its Museums and Zoos — citing serious threats of danger to the public, exhibits and animals.
While the selfie stick was voted one of the best inventions in 2014, and one of the top presents that year, many places fear damage to priceless art work, as well as injury to others.
The use of the sticks is still permissible in Central Park. So feel free to share those pictures with us via social media, just know that you will need to put it away if you visit the zoo.
