The carousel in Central Park expected to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2020, but the pandemic happened. As a result, there has been time for the Davis Schools Foundation to make some much-needed refurbishments.
The schools foundation, which owns and operates the carousel, is also undertaking a fundraising campaign to help pay for refurbishments and also create an endowment fund going forward.
Tentatively scheduled for Oct. 8 — plans are in place for a reopening celebration of the carousel, which has long served as a fundraiser for classrooms and school organizations.
