Apr 23rd, 2026 - Smorgasburg, the open-air food market known for its rotating mix of vendors and long lines, is adding Central Park to its schedule this spring. Starting May 14, it will run every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 12 noon to 8 PM, set up near the Columbus Circle entrance to the park.
More than 25 vendors are expected at the market, covering a wide range of food options suited to a quick lunch, a full dinner, or something to carry into the park for a picnic. Admission is free.
Smorgasburg already runs popular markets in Brooklyn and at other New York City locations, and the Central Park edition fills what has been a gap for outdoor food options on that side of the park during warmer months. The Thursday and Friday hours in particular give weekday visitors a reason to plan around a meal.
