Nov 20th, 2025 - The Public Theater has unveiled its 2026 lineup for Free Shakespeare in the Park, marking the eagerly anticipated return of this beloved summer tradition at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.
The season will feature two classic Shakespeare plays: the timeless tragedy Romeo and Juliet, directed by Saheem Ali, and the enchanting late masterpiece The Winter’s Tale, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.
Adding a fresh, engaging dimension to the season is the revival of the Monday Public Forum series at the Delacorte Theater. This series will blend performance, culture, and conversation, offering New Yorkers a platform for free civic dialogue and community connection alongside the theatrical offerings.
The Delacorte Theater, which reopened in 2025 after extensive renovations, is ready to welcome more audiences than ever before, embodying the spirit of the event’s motto: free, for all, and forever a New York tradition.
