January 17, 2025 - In February 2005, Central Park featured "The Gates," a public art installation by Christo and Jeanne-Claude with 7,503 gates spanning 23 miles throughout the park and attracting over four million visitors.
After 20 years, this impactful installation will now return to Central Park in augmented reality on February 12, 2025, between East 72nd Street and Cherry Hill. Visitors can engage with its legacy through their smartphones.

There will also be an exhibition at The Shed opening on February 12th as well, titled: Christo and Jeanne-Claude: The Gates and Unrealized Projects for New York City.
