Dec 8th, 2025 - A record‑breaking 36‑foot menorah will once again rise over Fifth Avenue this December, bringing a major Hanukkah tradition back to Midtown.
Each night of Hanukkah, from December 14–21, crowds will gather at 5th Avenue and 59th Street, across from The Plaza Hotel, to watch the candles light up the winter sky and celebrate the Festival of Lights with music, food, and community.
Inspired by Maimonides’ sketch of the original Temple menorah and designed by artist Yaacov Agam, it holds the Guinness World Record as the largest menorah in the world and has been lit in New York since 1977.
