Note: The Central Park Zoo is reopening on July 24th, 2020. All visitors (age 3 & up) must have a date-specific ticket to enter. It's easy! Check the KNOW BEFORE YOU GO page from the zoo to get detailed information on what to expect and to buy tickets online.
The Tisch Children's Zoo can be found within the Central Park Zoo at 64th Street and 5th Avenue. Entrance to the Children's Zoo is included in the Central Park Zoo admission price.
Open year-round, the Tisch Children's Zoo was renovated in 1997 thanks to a generous donation from businessman Laurence A. Tisch. It offers toddlers a chance to interact with and learn about animals in a safe and fun environment.
The Zoo features a small petting zoo, home to goats, sheep, cows, pigs and other furry creatures. Animal food is available from dispensers, giving kids the opportunity to feed the animals themselves.
The troupe at nearby Acorn Theatre performs daily shows, and children can learn different animal sounds by touching bronze sculptures of zoo animals located next to their pens.
The Tisch Children's Zoo in Central Park is a great place to teach kids about wildlife in an entertaining and interactive setting.
