TD Five Boro Bike Tour - 2026
32,000 cyclists will ride 40 car-free miles through all five NYC boroughs.
Every year on the first Sunday of May, New York City hands its streets over to cyclists. The TD Five Boro Bike Tour is one of the largest cycling events in the world, and the 2026 edition takes place on Sunday, May 3, drawing more than 32,000 riders from across the city and around the globe.
The route covers 40 miles of fully car-free roads through all five boroughs, Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, and riders of all skill levels are welcome. There's no official time limit, and most people finish in around five hours.
The Route
The ride begins at the intersection of Franklin Street and Church Street in Lower Manhattan, heading north through the city and straight through Central Park before continuing into Harlem and crossing into the Bronx. From there, riders head south along the east side of Manhattan, cross the Queensboro Bridge into Queens, and continue through Brooklyn. The tour ends with the biggest climb of the day: the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, which leads to the Finish Festival at Fort Wadsworth on Staten Island.
The route is mostly flat, with the Verrazzano climb being the one notable challenge near the end.

Registration for 2026 is open now through April 22, with in-person registration available at Packet Pickup if you miss the online deadline. Standard registration is $178.92, which includes a Rider Identification Kit (helmet cover, bib, and bike plate), snacks and entertainment at rest stops, mechanical support along the route, and entry to the Finish Festival.
A portion of every registration is a tax-deductible charitable donation to Bike New York, which funds free cycling education and community programs across NYC.
If you're riding with a group, registering as a team ensures everyone gets placed in the same start wave.
Start Times
Wave 1 begins at approximately 7:30 a.m., with subsequent waves releasing through 10:25 a.m. The start location is at Franklin Street and Church Street in Lower Manhattan.
Packet Pickup and the Bike Expo
The weekend before the tour, riders can collect their Rider Identification Kits at the Bike Expo at Chelsea Industrial in Manhattan. The expo is also a good opportunity to browse gear, attend workshops, and talk to vendors before race day.
